Live view is not a recording test

A working live view does not by itself confirm that recordings have been saved and can be retrieved.

Check the date and time

Check the recorder date and time so that you search for an event at the correct time.

Play back a previous day

Choose a previous day within your required retention period and test each camera. For motion-only recording, choose a time when motion actually occurred.

Export and play a short clip

Export a short clip using a method supported by your recorder, then open it and verify playback. A successful export message alone is not enough.

What if footage is missing?

Ask your technician to check the recording schedule, recording mode and drive condition. Do not format the drive before consulting the technician if you need important footage.

Check actual retention

Retention depends on storage capacity, recording settings and scenes. Check actual retention on your system and securely save important clips before they are overwritten. GO SMART: 01007767544.
