Choosing an apartment intercom: audio or video?

Specify outdoor call buttons and indoor stations per apartment. Eight apartments with one handset each need eight call destinations and eight handsets; a single-apartment kit should not be assumed to serve the building.

Audio or video?

Audio intercoms provide visitor conversation and door release where supported. Video adds a visitor view on a compatible monitor. Choose around residents’ needs, budget and available wiring.

Expansion requires compatibility

Check the system family, supported station count, power and distribution components before adding a monitor or panel. Similar appearance does not establish compatibility across systems.

Releasing the entrance door

Specify the door, opening direction and lock type, plus any mechanical key and internal release button. Lock power supply and battery capacity and compatibility must be checked before supply.

What should you send for a quotation?

Send apartment and indoor-station counts, audio or video preference, door counts and photos, location and existing wiring details. Equipment and labour follow a scope review; kit prices do not automatically include infrastructure work.
